ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - Firefighters from across the Quad Cities are battling two house fires in Rock Island.

The homes are next to each other on the 1600 block of 14th St.

The two homes are heavily damaged.

A neighbor tells KWQC he has Ring camera video showing the fire start between the two houses and quickly spread.

Fire officials tell KWQC that one of the homes is “packed full” of things.

Departments from Rock Island, Moline, Coal Valley, Alexis, and the Rock Island Arsenal have responded to the fires.

Our KWQC crew on the scene also saw an increased police presence in the surrounding neighborhood.

Fire officials also tell KWQC they are investigating other small fires that happened overnight in the same neighborhood. It’s unclear if they are connected.
