JONESBORO — After a Jonesboro City Council vote during its Monday, Sept. 8 regular meeting, $30,000 more will be spent on a forensic audit.
In April, the Council approved a contract with the Plante Moran firm to conduct a forensic audit to look at credit card purchases, accounts payable disbursements and employee benefits packages.
The extra $30,000 was on the Council’s agenda on Aug. 11 but city attorney David Dreyer wasn’t at that meeting so the Council tabled the request.
At the Sept 8 meeting, Dreyer sai the Council needs to tell Plante Moran that the total cost of the forensic audit will not exceed $95,000.
“It is a big expenditure for the city of Jonesboro and we need them to get this done fully at that price,” he told Council members.
