Massachusetts is in the midst of a significant drought . That is unlikely to change this week, with little rain in the forecast.

Instead, residents of the Bay State can expect temperatures at or just above seasonal averages — highs in the upper 70s to low 80s during the day, and falling to the low to mid 50s overnight.

The calm weather expected this week is the result of an area of high pressure settled in over the region.

There is a chance of precipitation on Wednesday night into Thursday, particularly south of the Massachusetts Turnpike. But Massachusetts appears unlikely to see any kind of significant rain, with totals not expected to clear 0.2 inches.

Beyond the Mass. Pike, there is a chance measurable rainfall will reach Boston by the end of the day Thursday.
