GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Gas prices are dropping across Michigan, with Grand Rapids being among the cities recording the cheapest gas average in the state, according to AAA.

Statewide, drivers can expect to pay an average of $3.05 per gallon of regular unleaded gas. This is 12 cents less than this time last month and 21 cents cheaper than this time last year.

But in Grand Rapids, the average is sitting at a much steeper discount of about $2.87 per gallon. Flint ($2.90) and Lansing ($2.90) are also recording averages below $3 a gallon.

This comes as demand has decreased while domestic gas supply has increased, AAA said.
