MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) - Police with the Morristown Police Department say a school bus with Hamblen County Schools was involved in a crash with a tractor trailer Monday morning.

Assistant Chief Michelle Jones said officers were called to the crash on 25 E. near Morlock Road in Morristown.

When officers arrived they found the school bus had stopped to kickup a student when the tractor trailer hit the bus in the rear, Jones said.

Police said that the driver of the truck was taken to UT Medical Center and only one student was on the bus. The student and the drive were not injured.

The truck was transporting lumber and 25 E. North will be closed for an extended period of time for cleanup.
