MESA, Ariz. — A person is dead and another is injured after a fight in Mesa leads to a shooting, police said.

According to Mesa PD, a shooting near US 60 and Gilbert Road occurred after a fight at a Mesa party overnight Sunday. Two people were shot during the incident, police said, with one dead and the other sustaining life-threatening injuries.

The identities of the victims were not immediately known. The investigation into what led up to the shooting is ongoing.
