Thousands of people were put to work on the tarmac at Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., on Sunday in the name of a good cause.

More than 10,000 people gathered at the airport not to catch a flight, but to pull planes with their bare hands in the annual "Dulles Plane Pull."

The event featured 86 teams, from police departments to companies. The teams grabbed onto ropes and we tasked with pulling commercial Boeing 737s and FedEx cargo planes.

This year's event raised $600,000 for Special Olympics Virginia , making it the biggest plane pull yet.
