BURIEN, Wash. — On Monday, a 29-year-old suspect was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and held on $10 million bail following the violent stabbing of two women at a Burien apartment complex last week .
Prosecutors requested the high bail amount due to the seriousness of the crime, and because the suspect has family in another country.
The suspect, identified as Marvin Ortiz Montecinos, is accused of stabbing and killing both his ex-girlfriend and his roommate on the night of Sept. 8. Court documents cite that only an hour prior to the crime, Montecinos was complaining about his ex-girlfriend breaking up with him. Prosecutors allege Montecinos seemingly killed his roommate for trying to intervene.
