General manager Dylan Seca would not give details on the “significant” injury, but he said “it’s nothing that will hurt him being the player we need him to be and the player that he wants to be.
“He just needs four or five weeks to get healed up and he’ll be good to go.”
The Sting begin the Ontario Hockey League regular season Friday against the Windsor Spitfires at Progressive Auto Sales Arena at 7:05 p.m.
Defenceman Lukas Fischer is expected to miss the opener. He’ll be at the St. Louis Blues training camp.
