One of the benefits of being a Steven Soderbergh fan in the year 2025 is that if one of his films doesn’t work for you, all you have to do is wait a few months until the next one. This year alone has seen the release of his first-person take on a ghost story, Presence , and the cool-as-hell spy thriller, Black Bag . The former fit into Soderbergh’s penchant for smaller, experimental films, while the latter is right in line with his interest in twisty thrillers with impressive casts. His latest, The Christophers , builds on Soderbergh’s interest in telling smaller, contained stories , and while it has its moments of great turns and fun, it does feel like one of the weaker spots in his recent run of work.
