Deputies charge 82-year-old after husband killed at Hilton Head assisted living facility

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WBTV) - An 82-year-old woman was charged after allegedly shooting her husband to death at an assisted living facility in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call around 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Preston Health Center at the Cypress of Hilton Head. When they got there, they found Harriett Kay Recker next to her husband, 81-year-old Dennis Recker.

Dennis had an apparent gunshot wound and died in the room, deputies said.

Harriett was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
