PHOENIX — A crash that involved three vehicles left one person dead on the westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway near Glendale early on Monday morning, according to authorities.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. at milepost 18 near 67th Avenue, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

DPS said that one vehicle heading west “crossed into a construction zone” and crashed into two vehicles without any passengers.

The driver was then taken to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead from injuries.
