A collision Sunday afternoon on Highway 312 near Huntley left one man dead and sent a woman and toddler to the hospital.
The man, 69, from Billings, was driving a Harley Davidson east on 312 approaching Shining Mountain Drive when he "made an abrupt brake" to turn left into a business, according to a statement from the Montana Highway Patrol.
A Subaru Impreza following behind struck the motorcycle as it braked to make the turn, MHP reported. The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet and emergency crews responding to the wreck pronounced him dead at the scene.
The woman, 25, driving the Subaru, was from Billings. She and her 3-year-old passenger were taken to St. Vincent Regional Hospital "as a precaution," according to MHP.
