FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Senator Jimmy Higdon says his work is not finished yet, even as he prepares to retire.
Higdon, who serves as Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, said one of his top priorities in his final months is improving access to driver’s license services in Eastern Kentucky.
Currently, many people in the region must travel more than 40 miles to reach a regional office. Higdon said that is too far for many families, and he wants to see services brought closer to home.
“That’s very important to us and your senators that represent Eastern Kentucky,” Higdon said. “So we’re going to work on that. We’re going to find a solution and try to get some of the testing for students back to the local level.”
