STATEWIDE — DEMOCRATIC FRONTRUNNER IN THE MAYORAL RACE and State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani received an endorsement from Gov. Kathy Hochul over the weekend. The governor, who announced her endorsement of Mamdani in a New York Times op-ed, has bolstered support of him leading into the election that is now less than two months away. Because she is a business-friendly moderate and Mamdani identifies as a democratic socialist, Hochul acknowledged that some may call them “unlikely allies.” Hochul that she and Mamdani share the same goals on “making New York affordable,” especially for families.
