(NewsNation) — Federal authorities arrested two men for allegedly planting an explosive device underneath a local news station van in Utah, leading to an evacuation of the area.

Suspects Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, face several federal charges, including possessing weapons of mass destruction, attempted aggravated arson and threat of terrorism, reported NewsNation affiliate KTVX.

Bomb squads discovered an incendiary device under a KSTU news van in Magna, which is outside of Salt Lake City, that was parked next to an occupied building on Friday, the outlet reported.

The device had reportedly been lit but failed to function as designed, police said.

The FBI tracked the explosive to the two suspects who lived nearby, according to KTVX.
