FOXBORO — Could Christian Gonzalez make his season debut this Sunday against the Steelers?
That’s a possibility, according to Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.
“It’s a chance,” Vrabel said Monday when asked about the status of his injured star cornerback. “There’s a chance that a lot of things could happen. It’s Monday, and we’ll figure out how he progresses along the week. We’ll see what he can do and have him do what he can do.”
Gonzalez, a second-team All-Pro last season, suffered a hamstring injury on July 28 and has not practiced or played since. Vrabel said the 23-year-old is “continuing to improve, working hard and trying to get back.”
