Conditions more typical of mid-summer are slated to stick around in Metro Detroit, the National Weather Service predicts.
Southeast Michigan is set to see an extended period of dry, sunny weather as well as above-normal temperatures at least until the weekend, according to NWS.
Steve Considine, a meteorologist at the weather service, confirmed that temperatures are about 10 to 15 degrees above average.
"We have a large mid-level high-pressure system anchored over the Great Lakes which has been remaining fairly persistent and is going to persist through the end of the week," Considine said.
The work week will be dry and in the 80s all week, with the warmest days being Tuesday through Thursday, NWS forecasts.
