The city was also dealing with reports that hundreds of ICE agents were on their way to nab suspected illegal immigrants at job sites, much like the situation in Los Angeles a few weeks ago that escalated to the mobilization of the National Guard and a battalion of active duty Marines.
Over the weekend, Trump set many in the city on edge as he posted an AI-created social media post of military helicopters flying over Chicago’s lakefront with the title “Chipocalypse Now.”
