Golden State Valkyries fans gathered at Rikki’s women’s sports bar in San Francisco’s Castro LGBTQ neighborhood Sunday morning to cheer on the team in its first WNBA playoff game. The team made history in this inaugural season by becoming the first WNBA expansion team to reach the playoffs. The September 14 game saw the Valkyries take on the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center in the Twin Cities, and unfortunately, they came up short, losing 101-72. The best-of-three series comes to Chase Center in San Francisco for Game 2 on Wednesday, September 17, at 7 p.m.
