Days after what would have been Connor Lopez's 24th birthday, friends and family gathered to honor his memory and keep the young pianist's legacy alive through a music scholarship.
On April 23, Lopez, of Galt, died in a crash on Sheldon Road in Elk Grove after his motorcycle collided with an SUV.
The classically trained pianist was remembered for his musical talent, warmth, humor, and kindness.
"Connor was the most incredible person," said his mother, Allyson Lyman.
His sister recalled him having "the goofiest mannerisms and he was just so silly and so kind. Usually older brothers kind of roughhouse and bully you in a way and he never did that. He was always so, so kind and always there for me."
