Mondo Duplantis keeps raising the bar.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist set the men's pole vault world record for the 14th time on Monday to capture his third straight world title.
Duplantis, who was born to an American father and Swedish mother, cleared 6.30 meters (20 feet, 8 inches) on his third and final attempt at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday.
Duplantis, who represents Sweden in international competitions, broke the world record for the first time in February 2020, clearing 6.17 meters to take the record away from 2012 Olympic champion Renaud Lavillenie of France.
Since then, Duplantis has been padding his world record one centimeter at a time, giving him 14 records over the last five years.
