The EFL are reportedly considering making multiple changes to the calendar next season - including an earlier start to the campaign.

English Football League chiefs are reported to be assessing their options amid the ever-busy footballing schedule.

This season, League One and League Two got started on August 1, with the Championship getting going on August 8 and the Premier League on August 15.

The Carabao Cup kicked off on the week commencing August 11 after the second-tier had got underway.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the EFL could now bring that start date forward.

They are reported to be considering moving the Carabao Cup opening round to the first weekend of August and making them the first games of the new season.
