A 44-year-old man police call a "prolific shoplifter" is facing dozens of charges after being arrested with stolen items.
Police allege the man stole $3,000 worth of goods from various stores in northeastern Winnipeg between March 21 and Sept. 13.
He was caught on Main Street, in the Point Douglas area, on Saturday morning, when officers spotted him on a bicycle. The man tried to get away but was arrested after a short chase, police said in a news release.
Police found $700 worth of stolen merchandise when they arrested him, the news release said.
