CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WPRI) — A man was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly threatened to shoot a school staff member.
Frank Blazejewski, 35, is accused of making a violent threat with a firearm during student drop-off at B.F. Norton Elementary School, police said.
Several parents and witnesses heard the incident and reported it to police.
"The threat consisted of going to retrieve a gun and returning to shoot the staff member," Superintendent Dr. Philip Thornton said. "The police have confirmed that this individual was not carrying a weapon at the time of the threat."
According to police, Blazejewski does not have a child who attends the school and did not know the person he threatened. It's believed he was just passing by when he made the threat.
