Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Eddie Giacomin has died at the age of 86, according to NHL.com .
Giacomin played for the New York Rangers from 1965 to 1975, before being claimed off waivers by the Detroit Red Wings four games into the 1975-76 season, the first of three with the franchise. The Sudbury native retired with a 290-209-96 regular-season record in 610 games, which included 54 shutouts, 15,452 saves and a .902% career save percentage.
