Fans are puzzled by hints that season nine of 9-1-1 will follow their beloved LA first responders tackling what looks like a meteor impact.

Ahead of the new season, 9-1-1 accounts began posting teaser clips of an emergency call about what appeared to be some form of space debris crashing down, a blockbuster-movie-style plot decision that was described as “insane” by one post on TikTok .

The fan of the show continues: “I want character development, I want something that makes the characters feel like they’re real. I don’t think that’s going to be helped by Athena punching an alien in the face.”
