Six years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker debuted, I'm still not over the biggest lie this movie told us, and I'm more convinced than ever that it's what made the movie so unpopular. Although outright vitriol for the sequel trilogy is unwarranted, there were admittedly various problems with the sequel trilogy , The Rise of Skywalker in particular.

In fact, it's The Rise of Skywalker that is more often than not considered Star Wars' worst movie . There are really a host of reasons for this, ranging from Palpatine's resurrection being poorly explained to the ways the movie tried to incorporate the late Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia (which often just felt morbid).
