Minneapolis police are responding to a shooting near the intersection of Lake Street and I-35 W.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara said five people were injured. Four of the people sustained what he called ‘non-life-threatening’ injuries. One person, he said, suffered a serious wound. All the victims are adult males.
O’Hara said there are conflicting reports about how the shooting took place, and no motive for the violence has been identified.
However, O’Hara says the area near the scene has been a trouble spot for incidents like shootings and robberies.
“This walkway has been terrible, as I'm sure anyone who lives down here or has been through here to tell you,” said O’Hara. “It's just a whole lot of people congregating that are using drugs. It's all kinds of garbage and debris.”
