The New York Yankees have not gotten anything close to good shortstop play this season from Anthony Volpe.

A former Gold Glove Winner, Volpe entered Monday leading the American League in errors. He has also continued a career trend of bad offense. The Yankees recently revealed that he has been playing through a shoulder injury and received a cortisone shot. He has not played in the last five games, and Jose Caballero has played well.

In the last five games, Caballero is 6-for-18 with a .980 OPS. His defense has been solid, and he brings a base-stealing threat to the offense. He entered Monday leading baseball in stolen bases. With Caballero making a case to be the starting shortstop the rest of the way, FanSided's Jake Elman urged the Yankees to leave Volpe off the postseason roster.
