LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The City of Little Rock announced that the city is seeing "significantly lower crime numbers" as summer comes to an end this year.
Little Rock city officials attributed the decline to the summertime crime reduction strategy that was implemented by Mayor Frank Scott Jr.
"Mayor Frank Scott, Jr.'s summertime crime reduction strategy resulted in significantly lower crime numbers, as Little Rock continues a multiyear trend that has made Arkansas's capital city both safer and stronger," the City of Little Rock said in a press release.
The city shared that, according to recent statistics, overall crime is down by 22% as compared to the past five years. Additionally, violent crime has reportedly dropped by 15% in the same time span, year-to-year overall crime is down by 18%,
