The Chatham Maroons have been building team chemistry by playing soccer and pickleball in their free time. Article content Article content

“I’m probably the best pickleball player, I can’t lie, but the boys give me a run for my money,” Skinner said.

The rookie forward had never tried pickleball until the Maroons put a paddle in his hand, but he warned teammates his second-best sport is tennis.

“I told them I’m going to be the best on the team,” said the Stouffville native, who turns 17 in October. “Obviously, now they know.”

Skinner is showing off his hand-eye co-ordination on the ice, too. He’s scored in his first two career games in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
