Ricky Hatton's rapid eight-month relationship with Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney was a hot topic as the Manchester and Liverpool-born celebrities found love on an ice rink.

The former world boxing champion, who tragically passed away aged 46 on Sunday (September 14), rekindled his connection with the actress, known for her role as Cassie Plummer in ITV's Corrie, while participating in Dancing on Ice early last year, reports the Daily Star .

Despite knowing each other for years, it was their time on the now-discontinued ITV competition show that ignited rumours of a blossoming romance, after being seen together on numerous pub outings.

Their first public outing as a couple was in May 2024, when they attended the grand opening of the £365m Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.
