The Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority, the emergency medical dispatch service for Washoe County, said it fired an employee after comments on social media did not align with the organization’s mission.
In a Sunday post on Instagram, REMSA said it was aware of a recent social media post by an employee on a personal account.
"The post did not reflect our organization's mission and principles. The person is no longer a part of the REMSA Health organization."
The alleged post, which has since been deleted but was shared in screenshots by multiple people, referenced the death of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist who was assassinated Sept. 10 while speaking at a university in Utah.
