The latest documentary film from acclaimed Anishinaabe filmmaker Darlene Naponse is set to screen at Cinefest on Tuesday, Sept. 16, offering audiences a powerful and immersive experience that stands out for its unique storytelling.
Told without dialogue or narration, Aki is a sensory portrait of life on a northern reserve. Through striking visuals and soundscapes, Naponse captures the rhythms of the land and subtle movements of daily life as the seasons shift.
