Annapolis Democratic mayoral candidate Jared Littmann spent more than $35,000 in the weeks preceding Tuesday’s city primary, greatly outspending his Democratic competitor, Rhonda Pindell Charles, who spent less than $1,500.

Campaign reports released Monday, covering spending and contributions from Aug. 18 through Sept. 7 for primary candidates, revealed significant funding disparities between the mayoral hopefuls. If elected, they would serve four-year terms.

Littmann spent his funds mostly on mailers and digital ads leading up to Tuesday’s primary election against current Ward 3 Alderman Pindell Charles. In November, the primary winner will face Republican Bob O’Shea , who does not have a Republican opponent.
