PHOENIX — A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for firing at police officers answering a domestic violence call in Chandler, authorities announced Monday.

Cody Long, 33, shot at officers with the Chandler Police Department in March 2024, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

His charges included aggravated assault for strangling and kidnapping a woman at a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at Interstate 10 and West Chandler Boulevard, according to initial police reports.

Long pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated assault, one count of misconduct involving weapons and one count of unlawful flight from a law enforcement vehicle.
