PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Gibsonton man is facing a felony charge after he chased an officer on the Howard Frankland Bridge, and later claimed he thought they were impersonating law enforcement.

An affidavit from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said on Saturday at around 1:20 p.m., a deputy was responding to a call in an unmarked patrol car with the lights and sirens activated.

The deputy reported that the defendant, 36-year-old William Reardon, began following closely behind at a high speed, and was weaving between traffic in an effort to "chase" the officer. Reardon then pulled up beside the deputy's car and started taking cell phone video.
