OTTAWA — Toe the line.

That’s the message the Mark Carney Liberals have for the Conservatives as MPs commence the fall sitting of the House of Commons.

“We are in a minority Parliament, we are looking at all parties and all MPs for collaboration,” Liberal House Leader Steven MacKinnon told reporters Monday morning in the foyer of the House of Commons.

“There’s a lot of work to do this fall, and this place works best when we work together.”

The Liberals’ relied heavily on Conservative support to pass a number of important bills before the summer break, including Bill C-5 — which breaks down provincial trade barriers and gave the government powers to more easily implement major projects.
