SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Fire District 9 announced their plans today to begin ambulance transport services starting in July 2026.
The district also announced the Resident Waiver Program, which will help make ambulance transport more affordable for local families.
“This program will eliminate all out-of-pocket expenses for ambulance transport for all District 9 residents, offering peace of mind in times of crisis and reinforcing the district’s commitment to community-focused service,” the district said in a press release.
The district said they have submitted an application for a transport license to the Washington Department of Health and have received over 30 letters of support from agencies and elected officials, including the Board of Fire Commissioners.
