SANFORD, Fla. – The Sanford Police Department on Monday is searching for a missing endangered person who was last seen Sunday night.

The department said Mark Nelson was last seen around 10:30 p.m. walking north on S. Orlando Drive near 27th Street.

Due to mental health concerns, he is considered endangered, police said.

He is described as being 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a Dr. Pepper shirt and shorts with Aztec designs.

“Mark communicates primarily through sign language and can also read lips if the speaker is in front of him,” police wrote on social media.
