A Charlotte man was convicted of murder and two Charlotte women were convicted of accessory after the fact in Caldwell County on Friday.

The convictions are linked to the death of 47-year-old Jeimy Alexander Bohorquez–Reyes, of Charlotte. Reyes’s body was found on the side of U.S. Highway 321in Caldwell County on July 28, 2024. Reyes had been shot multiple times, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Felix Alexander Mejia, 22, was convicted of second-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Mejia was sentenced to spend a minimum of 25 years and four months in prison. Mejia could spend up to 32 years and five months in prison, according to the release.
