The focus in the aftermath of the New York Giants’ 40-37 overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday has largely been on the Giants’ failure to protect a three-point lead in the final :25 of regulation. The Giants allowed an 18-yard Dak Prescott to Jake Ferguson completion that put the ball at the New York 49-yard line, setting up Brandon Aubrey, the NFL’s premier kicker, for a game-tying 64-yard field goal.
On Monday, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said he would have “liked to be a bit tighter” in coverage on that play, but said there were other chances missed to close out a victory.
