PLAINVILLE, Conn. — The Plainville Town Council is set to discuss a new proposal Monday evening that would provide property tax relief for the families of first responders who die in the line of duty.
The proposed measure would exempt the surviving spouse of a fallen first responder from paying up to $10,000 annually in property taxes.
"It's definitely a great benefit to families because property taxes are expensive, especially here in Connecticut," said Tabitha Brewster, manager of the Main Street Diner in Plainville.
