A 22-year-old Brooklyn man died in an ATV crash on Saturday in Monroe County, according to a news release.

Dymtro Prokopets was killed in the crash at 2:36 a.m. Saturday on Route 115 in Tunkhannock Township, according to the release from Pocono Mountain Regional Police .

Andrii Zhyryk, 19, also of Brooklyn, was a passenger on the ATV. He was seriously injured and flown to a hospital for treatment, police said.

The ATV was rear-ended by a Nissan Sentra driven by a 57-year-old Albrightsville resident.

Charges are pending the conclusion of the crash investigation, police said.

Neither ATV rider was wearing any protective gear, police said. Both were wearing dark clothes, police said.
