LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Lexington man was arrested following an animal abuse investigation that uncovered several cats in poor condition and one dead cat, authorities said.
The Lexington Police Department responded Sept. 8 to a report of animal abuse at 209 Foy Avenue. During the investigation, officers seized the cats, which were turned over to the Davidson County Animal Shelter.
Officials said any questions about the cats’ condition or adoption opportunities should be directed to the shelter.
Jason Carter, 48, of Foy Avenue, was arrested and charged in connection with the case. He was released on a $4,500 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 8, 2025, according to police.
