Maurene Comey, a former federal prosecutor and daughter of former FBI Director James Comey , filed a federal lawsuit Monday alleging she was illegally fired from the Justice Department in July because of her family name, her perceived political affiliation, and pressure from right-wing activist Laura Loomer.

The 39-page complaint , filed in the Southern District of New York, describes her July 16 dismissal as abrupt and unconstitutional and says she was given no advance notice or formal cause.
