A former Milwaukie police officer earlier this year was found guilty of soliciting sex from a woman who crashed her car, records show.

The ex-officer, David M. McVeigh, entered what’s known as a “no contest” plea to a single count of first-degree misconduct in Clackamas County Circuit Court. The plea deal is treated the same as a guilty plea and acknowledges the state has sufficient evidence to prove the case in court.

In January, a judge ordered the 35-year-old Estacada resident to complete 150 hours of community service, as part of a deal where McVeigh voluntarily surrendered his law enforcement license permanently.

The case will remain open until a sentencing hearing in January 2026, when the charge will be dismissed entirely if McVeigh has completed the volunteer work.
