NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is meeting with President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon.
Lee traveled to the White House as Trump signed a Presidential Memorandum to establish the Memphis Safe Task Force.
“It’s very important because of the crime that’s going on in Memphis,” Trump said.
The president said that this task force will be a replica of the National Guard’s deployment in Washington, D.C.
“The effort will include the National Guard, the FBI, ATF, DEA, ICE, Homeland Security, U.S. Marshals and more,” the president said during a stream from the Oval Office. “This team will deploy the full powers of the federal law enforcement agencies to restore public safety.”
