CLEVELAND — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is calling for a judge to dismiss the Browns' federal lawsuit regarding the future site of their stadium.
Yost argues the team's lawsuit, which deals with the constitutionality of the so-called "Art Modell Law," is now irrelevant — since the Ohio General Assembly modified the law this past summer.
For reference, there are currently multiple pending lawsuits connected to the Browns' possible move out of downtown to a new domed stadium in Brook Park — one from the city of Cleveland filed in state court, and another filed by the Haslam Sports Group in federal court. Both deal with the 1996 Modell Law, which prevents professional teams in Ohio from moving to a new municipality without giving the city or residents the opportunity to buy the fran
